MURAL FAQ
How long does a mural take to complete?
Murals are multi-day projects.
Even small murals require time for wall preparation and sketching, which typically takes a full day on its own.
Painting time depends on size, style, and complexity of the design. Most murals take several days to complete, and timelines are discussed and confirmed before work begins.
Can a mural be completed in one day?
In most cases, no.
One-day work is generally limited to prepping the wall and laying out the design. Full completion in a single day is only possible for very small, simple mural-style canvas pieces, not full wall murals.
What happens on the first day of a mural project?
The first day typically includes:
- Wall preparation
- Surface repairs if needed
- Priming (if required)
- Sketching and layout of the design
Painting begins only after the wall is properly prepared.
Do I need to prepare the space before you arrive?
Yes. Please:
- Clear furniture and décor from the area
- Ensure pets are secured
- Provide ladders or scaffolding if needed for tall walls
This allows the project to run smoothly and safely.
What if I want changes once painting starts?
Once painting begins, design changes are not permitted.
Any additional requests beyond the approved design may require a new quote and additional scheduling.
What if weather affects an outdoor mural?
Weather can impact outdoor murals. If conditions are not suitable, the project will be rescheduled for the next available date at no extra cost.
Canvas Commission FAQ
How long does a canvas commission take?
Timelines vary depending on size and detail, but most canvas commissions take 1–3 weeks, including drying time.
Do canvas commissions require a deposit?
It depends on the type of commission.
Shop-style commissions (based on artwork displayed in my shop) require full payment at the time of ordering. These pieces are created using an established style and can be customized in size or minor details.
Custom canvas commissions (designs not shown in my online examples) require a non-refundable deposit before work begins. The deposit covers planning, sketches, and concept development and will be applied toward the final total if the project proceeds.
Can I request changes to a canvas commission?
Changes may be discussed during the planning and sketch phase only.
Once the final concept or sketches are approved and painting begins, no changes can be made to the artwork.
This ensures the integrity of the creative process and allows the commission to be completed as agreed.
Do you ship canvas commissions?
Yes. Shipping options and costs will be discussed in advance.
Who owns the artwork?
The physical canvas belongs to the client once paid in full.
The artist retains reproduction and portfolio rights unless otherwise agreed.
